Job Description
SUMMARY: The successful candidate will plan, administer and oversee the design administration of mid and large size transportation projects. As the team leader, the Transportation Project Manager will be responsible for marketing, winning work, and maintaining key client relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Establish and maintain client relationships and ensure client satisfaction. Meet with project clients to ensure that client’s project objectives are met.
• Market and win project work that generates $1,000,000 annually.
• Manage approximately $600,000 gross revenue annually.
• Report on the project’s status and coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and other consultants.
• Manage project write-offs to less than 1% of total revenue generated each year.
• Utilize the ETC process every month.
• Lead technical task as professional of record in areas of expertise.
• Provide guidance to and coordinate efforts of the transportation design and planning and project management activities.
• Manage, and lead the overall project including technical, financial and client satisfaction efforts.
• Manage the development, coordination, and execution of the transportation design staff on a day-to-day basis.
• Develop and manage project plans during all phases of projects (from inception through planning, design, procurement and construction).
• Monitor project and staff to ensure that project is on schedule is progressing according to established scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives.
• Interface with clients in meetings, schedules and issues and ensure that projects remain on track.
• Prepare reports for company management and client indicating procedure adherence and variance, project progress.
• Evaluate each project design phase and determine if time schedules and costs objectives are being met.
• Strive to insure project time and cost objectives are met.
• Train, mentor and develop staff.
• Provide direction and guidance to staff members in varied functions.
• Maximize project, while minimizing risk.
• Manage billing, keeping accounts receivable fewer than 53 days and UBR less than 29 days.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• 10+ years engineering experience with a background in transportation design that includes a combination of roadway, bridge, traffic and storm water.
• 5 years experience managing project and professional staff.
• Demonstrated history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
• Proven ability to successfully negotiate contracts on company’s behalf.
• Construction inspection or construction engineering experience is preferred.
• Experience working with ODOT
• Oregon PE required
• Knowledge and proficiency using computer systems and applications
• Regional local agency work experience is preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Demonstrated ability to communicate using business correspondence.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with peers, co-workers, clients, customer, and the general public.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• PMI certification a plus.
• Valid drivers’ license
